The first time you wash these towels, something magical happens: the smooth basket weave puckers into a waffle texture that offers more surface area per square inch, to drink in water like no flatwoven towel can. Loomed from yarn-dyed organic cotton crossed with white, they have soft color that endures through hard work and frequent laundering. Approximately 98% of the water used to produce this item is recycled.
100% organic cotton is grown and woven in India.
All of our organic cotton products are machine washable. We recommend machine washing on the gentle or delicate cycle with like colors, with cold water and a natural, plant based laundry detergent. We do not recommend using whiteners, as bleaching agents may diminish the brilliance and depth of the colors; when needed, use only non-chlorine bleach. Line dry, or tumble dry low and remove promptly. Fabric softeners and dryer sheets reduce the absorbency of cotton textiles and are not recommended. Place a set of our wool dryer balls inside the dryer to naturally soften the fabric and reduce drying time. Use a warm iron as needed.

I've been enjoying the quality, effectiveness, and colors of the waffle-weave dishtowels that I've purchased new from Coyuchi for a few years now. These restored 2nd Home dishtowels are completely comparable, so far as I can tell, except that the color is sort of gray. Maybe a result of the restoration process? But they still work like a charm, and I like the color. Also very nice to have a set of 6, because they complement Coyuchi's striped linen dishtowels very well.
